Ripple Effect Guide service offers guided trips on almost all of West Michigan’s tributaries including the Big Manistee, Muskegon, Grand, Betsie and Kalamazoo rivers. All the necessary gear, tackle and fish cleaning is provided. Fly fishing and conventional fishing is offered, it is up to you to decide how you would like to target the desired species. Capt. Quinn Knudsen was born and raised in Traverse City, MI. Since Quinn could walk he was fishing off his childhood homes dock for bluegill and bass. As he grew older he was introduced to steelhead and salmon fishing, which absolutely consumed his life at a young age. Nearly every Saturday, Sunday and any time he could sneak away was spent on the various rivers in Northern Michigan chasing Salmon, Steelhead and trout. At age 15 Quinn was mating for charter boats and continued to do so throughout high school and college. After seven years on the charter boats and successfully graduating from Grand Valley State University Quinn decided to start his own guide service in 2022. Quinn now is a full time guide servicing all of West Michigan, while also guiding for Katmai River Lodge in Alaska during the months of July and August.
